Interested in information on my ancestors. My oldest living uncle on my mother's side is Raymond Lane, age 80 in 2010 states Henry Lane was a half-brother of Alford Lane Jr. aka Alfred Lane Jr. who was married to Ollie Lane. Uncle Raymond says Henry used to work as a groundskeeper/mower at a cemetery in Otto, WV or Spencer, WV. Unsure who Henry Lane's parents are.

Raymond is the oldest son of Denver O'Dell Lane. Denver was born March 6, 1909. His middle name is the maiden name of his mother or a grandmother. Denver Lane had an older brother named Raymond Lane who died around 1950. Denver and Artle Raymond Lane were sons of Alford/Alfred Lane and Ollie Lane.

I found a 11 year old Denver with an Andrew W. Lane at the John Whiting Hotel near the B&O Railroad in the 1920 census. Andrew may be a mistake in the census or an alias or a relative of Alford/Alfred Lane Jr. He is the head of the household and is a blacksmith. My grandfather, Denver O'Dell Lane would have been 10 years old in January 1920 census, not 11 because he would not be 11 until March 6, 1920. Maybe they estimated his age.

I do not know where the O'Dell came from. Other names grandpa mentioned besides O'Dell were Lilly, Rosa Belle Adkins, Homer Adkins. I don't know if we are related to Bowers. There are two Homer Adkins in the censuses and I want to sort out.

My other great grandpa was the Homer Adkins who's company truck went down the hill and hit a tree around 1944. The man with him lost his leg and Homer died.

About 1945, the family left WV and moved to Akron, Ohio. I was born in Akron, Ohio to one of the daughters of Denver Lane named Betty Lou Lane, twin of Bobby Joe Lane who is still alive. Red hair runs in mom's family. Figure that this was from the Irish in the O'Dell family. Any tips or documents appreciated.

Also finding two Rosa Adkins. I am not sure where she is buried.
Thanks. Cynthia Rodgers cynthiarodgers77@hotmail.com
