Hi, I am looking for info on James K. Boggs who married Margaret Connoly, they had a few children, and the line I an most interested in is James Orland Boggs and who he was married to. Some say it was Myrtle Rouch, and some say Chessie Weaver. Either way I found that this is my Great Grand father and I am trying to track all I can on him and his wife(s) and children. Thanks Bill Quote:

From: texbet Re: James Orlan(d) Boggs June 03, 2006 11:52PM I am fearful I've posted some incorrect information. So, I'll have to correct that, if I can. Wirt County Marriag es Date: 9/25/1899 BOGGS, James 21 WEAVER, Chessie 17 Now to the error Date: 4/18/1850 BOGGS, Nathaniel KING, Almira d/o Thomas I think this is the correct info, & not what I sent earlier. Mostly because the name KIRK is listed as the parent of James K Boggs, in death records. Also because in the ROANE COUNTY FAMILY HISTORY---1989 This is about the Short family with some Boggs in it. Submitted By William Short " Parents of James K. Boggs were Marshall and Almira (King) Boggs. There were eight children in their family: Marshall, Thomas, and Nathan and girls were Margaret, Relle, Ella, Nora and Eva." -------------------------- CENSUS OF ROANE COUNTY 1920 # 80-90 James O Boggs hd 42 m Myrte wi 36 m Nora da 16 s Carl sn 11 Rufus sn 5 Gerald sn 1/12 Ed Davis boarder 42 wd ------------------------------ I cannot find James O Boggs in 1910 or 1930 Roane County You might want to check Wood or Wirt counties, I can find one marriage in Wood Co. BOGGS, Carl James 18 POB: Roane Co. RES: Parkersburg s/o James O Boggs and Blanche Naomi GILL 17 POB: Wood Co RES: Parkersburg d/o Minnie Teter--father dead I did find this in Roane Co. Marr. Date: 7/23/1936 BOGGS, James Orland 48 Wood BILES, Aurilla Mae 48 Ohio;Wood Thats it for now. Betty Reply Quote BillB_22 Re: James Orlan(d) Boggs July 19, 2006 10:48AM I want to first of all thank you for posting the information that you have. I do however have a few questions and concerns that I would like to share and maybe I can get straightend out. I believe the first bit of information that you posted was the correct info, the second part that you had posted I had seen most of it but James K. Boggs's father was in fact Nathaniel he had a son by the name of Marshall. Nathaniel was married to Almira King on 18 Apr 1850 in Wirt County. My records indicate that Nathaniel was married 4 times. Now the best part of this post is the James O Boggs, There was a census I believe in in 1900 and thi swould put James O, at the age of 21 and out of the household Wirt County Marriages Date: 9/25/1899 BOGGS, James 21 WEAVER, Chessie 17 According to the census of 1880 it shows that James O. was 1 yr old, and give his b'date as an estimated abt. 1879 I have his birthday as 24 Jun 1878, Died; 14 Mar 1951 He is buried in Mt Oliviet in Parkersburg WV. Anyway, I am sure you don't want to hear all the info tha I have and I do appreciate your help. When you re-affirmed that there was a Gerald <~~ this is my grandfather that my grandmother told me was dead and it wasn't 10 years later that he died. I could have contacted him prior to his death and filled in these missing pieces anyway he was born to James O and Myrtle (Rousch). My Uncle on my fathers side remembers the name Myrtle as his grandmother. He said that he doesn't remember much about her because my (Sick-minded) grandmother "Natalie Thornton Boggs Casey" put all of her kids in foster homes and they were not to have any contact with the Boggs side of the family. If any of her family on the Thornton side should have any questions or concerns they are more than welcome to contact me. Because of her total ignorance and lies I never got the chance to meet my real grandfather. Thanks Betty you were a great help and if you should have any more info please feel free to post it. Bill

From: texbet Re: James Orlan(d) Boggs July 25, 2006 10:16AM Yes, I've already put the correct info about Nathaniel the father. Would this make the 4th marriage for Nathaniel? Roane County Marriages Date: 7 May 1863 BOGGS, Nathaniel 33 (W) Jackson; Wirt WILL, Sarah 18 Roane d/o James 7 Harriet Oh yes I'd believe anything about some the ancestors. My family & my husbands' family as well. For some strange reason they kept secrets like crazy.
