Thomas' father was Hugh McMILLAN who was born in Ireland and came to Baltimore, MD in 1771 .... Would really appreciate info on Jordan, glad to pay copy fees, etc

I'm looking for information available on my great-grandfather, Rufus VINEYARD. He was born Feb 1858 (Spencer, WV ?) and married M. C. ? .... 10 children .... He died in 1942 and is buried in Clover Cemetery.

Researching Alfred MOORE (bn 28 Nov 1841, Greene Co. PA) a son of Thomas MOORE (bn 04 Dec 1809) and Rachel MAPEL/MAPLE MOORE (bn Feb 1810) .... Alfred married in Greene Co. on 20 Oct 1864 to Elizabeth S. GUTHRIE (bn 13 Nov 1846, Greene Co. PA), a daughter of Samuel and Nancy (PATTERSON) GUTHRIE ............... Alfred and Elizabeth MOORE lived at Peniel in Roane County in 1872. He was a farmer in Curtis District, a school commissioner and trustee. They had 4 children: Zora M. (bn 1865), Nancy W. (bn 1867), Margaret L. (bn 1868) and Virgie (bn 1877) .... Any information on siblings, parents, or grandparents of Alfred would be appreciated. I have traced this family back to Dr. John MOORE of Greene Co. who immigrated from Ireland in 1770 and married Hanna ARMSTRONG, both are buried near Carmichaels, PA .... This is part of my wife's family line

My great-great grandparents were Samuel James SPENCER (bn 12 Feb 1819 in OH) and Nancy Jane STARKEY (bn 24 Jul 1822 in OH). They married 15 Jul 1843 in (then) Crawford Co., OH .... Both the SPENCER's and STARKEY'S were on the 1850 Wyandot Co., OH census .... On a later census Samuel indicated that both his parents were from Virginia. Would like to know the names of Samuel SPENCER'S parents and any additional info

My great-great grandparents were Joseph Anderson BUTCHER (1806-1844) and Eunice FISHER BUTCHER (1810-1890) who married in Lewis Co., VA. They had the following 7 children - all came to Roane County in the late 1850's : 1. John Webster BUTCHER (1828-1910) married Eliza GLAZE in 1852, Lewis Co. (my great-grandparents) Their children were:

  • b. Sophia Eunice (1856-1939) marr Charles Thomas MITCHELL on 22 Sep 1878

  • d. James Madison (1861-1932) marr Mary Estaline LOONEY on 20 Dec 1882 (my line)
  • e. Sarah Jane (1864-1891) marr James Madison WINE on 25 Mar 1883.
  • f. Isaac Everett

    3. Lucinda BUTCHER (1834-1885) marr Peter BUSH ca 1854 (2nd husband)
    4. Matilda BUTCHER (1835- ? ) marr William Harrison REXROAD
    5. Margaret BUTCHER (1839-1887) marr John FLESHER on 13 Mar 1859
    6. Wilson BUTCHER (1844- died in Civil War)
    7. Joseph Anderson BUTCHER, Jr (1845-1887) marr Phoebe Susannah NEFF in 1865 1-d - James BUTCHER and Mary Estaline LOONEY BUTCHER are my grandparents. They had 15 children. 1-e - Sarah Jane BUTCHER and James Madison WINE - really need help on this line. Would very much appreciate any help on these families. Need address for Larry and Peggy (FLESHER) STRICKLIN - Peggy wrote the article on George Adam FLESHER on pg 156 in The Roane County West Virginia Family History 1989

My gr-gr-gr-gr grandfather was Reuben R. REYNOLDS (bn ca 1780-90) who married Jean TANNER on 31 Oct 1805. She was a daughter of Edward and Rachel Tanner of Roane County .... Reuben may have been a minister who preached his first sermon at a church in Walton, (W)VA in 1826 .... Have the following information on 3 of his sons:
  • a. William (bn 1812) marr Mary WOLFE, dau of Jonathan WOLFE from Roane County
  • b. Benjamin (bn 1815) marr Hester A. DYE
  • c. Thomas (bn ca ?) marr Lucinda TOLLEY
    Any assistance with names of Reuben's parents, or info on Reuben and his family would be greatly appreciated
